WebSep 23, 2024 · I’m having a bathroom refurb and as you can see from the images attached, within minutes of the old tiles being removed, it’s obvious the old plaster underneath will follow suit. Would you suggest removing all the tiles and the remaining (if any) plaster and then dot and dab plasterboard to refinish? Or any other suggestions. WebApr 10, 2011 · 1. Dot & Dab – boards are cut to size and adhesive is mixed ready to dab on the walls. Dabs are placed every 300mm across and down the boards using a plasters/dabbing trowel. There MUST be a full line of adhesive around the perimeter of the wall inc electrical boxes.

Hi there, If the tiles will get wet (i.e. in the shower bit) you should use a cement-based backing board (i.e. like Hardibacker - available from Topps Tiles and similar) as plasterboard will disintegrate as water will always pass through the grout. You can dot and dab Aquapanel but you want to be fitting screws through the adhesive once it's gone off.
