When I put the "Downmix Channels To Stereo" DSP in the playback chain, the speech (now in the stereo channels) was peaking around -10dB. Seems reasonable. When I did the same with the "Downmix Channels To Mono" DSP, the speech was only peaking at around -30dB. When I export the DVD in Adobe Encore, the 5.1 audio seems to downmix to Stereo (Dolby Ditial 2.0). I'm not experiencing this issue while exporting for Blu-ray in Adobe Encore so it probably has something to do with my Adobe Encore settings for DVD.
