The pump did not evacuate the junk. The pump should not cause any suspenssion. The gravity flow will allow the suspension to be evacuated also.

If you have a gravity feed/constant feed aux tank the BCM doesn't see the fuel level drop so it thinks the fuel gauge is broken and puts it at E and may set a code. If you shut the truck off and restart it it will read again. Once the aux tank is empty it will read normal.
