I don't really know what to change to get it running UEFI mode again too. I'm guessing windows has just retained the settings of the previous CPU and now doesn't recognise the new one.

WebApr 20, 2014 · Yes, you have to have both os's as the same, either UEFI or MBR/Legacy. You cannot have Linux legacy and 8 uefi. For a while I did have both UEFI Windows 8 and MBR Debian 7. The way I switched between them was by changing my settings in BIOS from UEFI to MBR and vice versa. I decided to change it back to Legacy-UEFI like before, but it still won’t start. It doesn’t detect my drives as bootable, although the drives themselves are detected.
